Contained in this post is a brief, loose description of the rules we expect you to abide by when using the forum. Refusal to do so will lead to temporary and permanent bans.
The Golden Rule is: Don't Be An Asshole. Ad hominen attacks, flaming, trolling, or generally being a pain in the neck will see you quickly removed from the forum. Although hard to quantify, repeatedly idiotic behaviour will be rewarded with a ban. Use your own sense of good judgment, and if in doubt about something, don't post it.
Second, Do Not Post Specific In Character Information. This rule applies to players, and is another of those flexible, hard to quantify rules. The game is played exclusively at lost-tales.org port 1455, not on AIM, not on ICQ, and not on the forums. In Character information is the sort of information one is meant to learn about in game. Specific things that are frowned on is posting to complain you were killed and naming the person who did it, revealing characters present or past, or revealing plot secrets.
Other things that are frowned upon include: pestering staff about your application, pestering the staff at all when it can be confined to email, posting in the wrong forum, repeatedly posting the same thing, and so on. Practice proper forum etiquette.
With that out of the way,
How To Receive an Account:
First, you require an account on the MUD. Connect to the MUD and create an account on the game server. Once you have your account, request one OF THE SAME NAME AND UNDER THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS as that of your MUD server. Your account will be activated within a couple of days provided you do this, and from there, you can post to your heart's content.
