To keep you guys up to date on what we're doing... so you know we've not forgotten about this project. I certainly haven't!

Expect the builders, if they want to, to update you here and give you little sneak peeks at what may be coming. Smile

I finished sixteen new objects today - mostly fancy stuff. Pocketed shirts, skirts, tunics, and pants. And then the lovely designed cloaks, blouses, tunics, cloaks, etc. I also finished finding the sdescs for 40 "flavor" items to make playing FUN!

The wonderful thing about Kithrater's new coding is that he has made it possible for us to use more than one variable - causing us to make fewer objects, but have an AMAZINGLY larger amount of things that come out of them. For example:

Code:
<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A grey linen cloak with embroidery of a bear appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A black linen cloak with embroidery of an airborne dragon appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A indigo linen cloak with embroidery of a fort appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A orange linen cloak with embroidery of a mountain peak appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A red linen cloak with embroidery of a castle appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A purple linen cloak with embroidery of a hawk appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A black linen cloak with embroidery of a clenched fist appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A white linen cloak with embroidery of a fort appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A brown linen cloak with embroidery of crossed swords appears.

And notice... all of these have the same vnum. Amazingly cool, yes?

I also moved all of the boots, shoes, and slippers over to a different zone by recreating them, then deleting the original. It allowed me to make leather boots containers, so you can hold a little bit in them - and... well... allowed me to put them into the right building zone. >.<

This brings the count of my built objects to... eh... 45 coded clothing items, 5 boots, and 2 pairs of slippers.

Next Task: Write up the full descriptions, and get everything built, for the 40 "flavor" items. Essentially - rings, bracers, anklets, earrings - things that make you look purty, but have no real other coded value.

I stretched my artistic fingers to work on the banner today - here's what I came up with: Clicky.

EDIT: Can't forget! I had Bard and Kithrater's help - I just made the final product. They told me what should be on it. >.<

I've been working on more banners, since the first didn't work out. Sad

I've also been building you guys some "pretties"... there are many more to come. I stopped because of some coding questions, which have since been resolved. (Yay Kith the Master Coder!)

Code:

The weirdish article situation (a/an/etc) will be fixed soon, I imagine. Smile I just wanted you guys to be able to see what was up for now.

Though most of them are not usable for one reason or another, I thought I'd show you how I've been spending my MUD building time - though I have a million other things on my list to do, too.

https://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn208/SJDreamer/?albumview=grid

The white one was supposed to have a clear background - I made that one a long time ago. All of the green ones were for before we changed to this AWESOME look that we have now, and the others are what I've been working on most recently. Some of them take me a long time, some of them don't, but all is good.

Give me time, and I might just make you guys some things for your signatures on message boards, if you'd like to use them. Smile Those long, skinny strips. I'll think about it.

Woo!

My account issue is all fixed now (thanks, Kith!), and so I have gotten a lot of leathergoods objects out of the way today. This would be, like, your backpacks, gloves, pouches, boots, sheaths, baldrics, etc.

I've been building the orkish leathergoods, so those are just about ready. My next task will be to finish those, then pick through the rest of the required objects we need before opening. Weapons, household goods, fancy stuff... all of that's in the works!

Beorian, Orkish, and Noldo base leathergoods have been finished.

Beorian improved have also been finished. (The fancy stuff.)

I'll be moving on to Orkish improved and Noldo improved leathergoods tomorrow, then leathergoods should be finished, and my next task will be *gasp* Weaponry! Some have already been done. Smile But I figure you guys want the means to hack things to pieces to become heroes, so I'll jump in so I can take part in making that happen.

Oh! And I wanted you to see these since they've been fixed:

Code:
<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Otter-shaped copper amulet with a peridot appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Badger-shaped copper amulet with a garnet appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Bird-shaped copper amulet with a garnet appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Boar-shaped copper amulet with a citrine appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Spider-shaped copper amulet with a moonstone appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Wolf-shaped copper amulet with a moonstone appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4048
Deer-shaped copper amulet with a blue aventurine appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
l amulet
  Facing forward in this copper amulet is the depiction of the
head of otter, staring with unblinking peridot eyes. The copper
color of the amulet allows the gem color to stand out brightly,
and it is held about the neck with a strong dark brown cord,
braided like a rope.

Enjoy!

Thanks to some help from Bad JuJu, your newbie shops are in and ready to go, with the exception of the items that have not been built yet, so I can't put them in the stores.

However, that's done as far as I can get it for now... you won't get the really fancy stuff until you get in game, though. Stuff like....

Code:

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A brown, stoat decorated linen cloak appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4039
A thick white, city decorated woolen cloak appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4040
A orange, pair of crossed swords decorated wool tunic appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4041
A brown, wall decorated linen shirt appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4042
A orange, splintered skull decorated linen blouse appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4043
A simple red, bear decorated linen dress appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4044
A fitted green, falcon decorated wool dress appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4045
A elm amulet with a carved badger appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4046
A carved shield ash amulet with a rose quartz appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4047
A carefully-rounded brawny arm carved silver amulet appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4038
A orange, closed eye decorated linen cloak appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4039
A thick red, castle decorated woolen cloak appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4040
A green, arrow decorated wool tunic appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4041
A black, axe decorated linen shirt appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4042
A brown, fort decorated linen blouse appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4043
A simple red, deer decorated linen dress appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4044
A fitted orange, grinning skull decorated wool dress appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4045
A pine amulet with a carved roaring dragon appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4046
A carved grinning skull ash amulet with a moss agate appears.

<#****** / ||||||>
load o 4047
A carefully-rounded wolf carved silver amulet appears.

Is it possible, within these newbie shops, to select the color and symbol emblazoned on the newbie wools/leathers?

e.g.

buy tunic green wolf

You purchase a green, wolf decorated wool tunic

Well, those decorated ones aren't in the newbie shop. The newbie shop only contains colored wardrobe.

However, Kith was talking about working on a program where you could purchase the symbol and color that you want, yes. And I imagine, if you catch me in a VERY nice mood, I might trade them out for you, anyway, since all of you have been so wonderful and helpful.

With the help of Steppenwolf, we now have the following built:

9019 - a blackened clay stove
9016 - a hearth fire
9017 - a campfire
9018 - a stovefire
3006 - a set of wooden cooking utensils
3007 - a small pile of firewood
3008 - a straw-stuffed flint container
3010 - a squat, brick-and-mortar hearth
6004 - a large set of pots and pans
9015 - a pile of scattered ashes

With those, I will now begin working on your crafts once I re-familiarize myself with the crafting system. Smile (I <3 crafting...)
