Music Reccomendations
This board isn't used for enough superfluous or inane things!
What kinds of music do you all like? What should I give a listen to, if I haven't heard it already?
I'm a shameless Indie Pop fan, specifically anything under the Twee genre.. Tiger Trap, Tullycraft, Dressy Bessy.. Catchy hooks, upbeat lyrics, and riffs you can dance along sillyishly to.
Also: Sleater-Kinney. I have a shrine to Corin Tucker in my room. A -SHRINE-.

I used to be against Country and Folk as a rule.. but then I realised I was listening to the wrong stuff. Some artists sing about PIRATES. Clearly this is the proper selection of the genre to listen to.
And so I give you Stan Rodgers - Barrett's Privateers.

Sea Shanties are awesome.

Ehh.. I don't count songs like this as "country" exactly..

I do <3 Battlelore, Dragonforce and Nightwish.
Hurray for Finnish bands!
Oh! Listen to this one, it's the theme song for my PC on another mud.

That said.. Loreena McKennitt offers a whole lot of inspiration at times for characters. The Highwayman (not her own poem, but she does a fantastic rendition) rarely lets me down for archetypes when I'm bored (the full version is a few stanzas longer).

I'm fond of metal more than anything, primarily symphonic and power. Two great songs (and bands):
Crimson King by Demons & Wizards
Hymn by Lunatica

I usually find myself listening to the soundtracks to The Witcher and Conan when I play Middle Earth-related things. I have a really electic mix of musical tastes, but as far as this game goes, I prefer Globus, Immediate Music, and classical composers, besides the aforementioned. In The Hall of the Mountain King does 'dwarf' and big estate perfectly for me. Also occasionally Celtic or Native American stuff.

I generally have to agree with Ebon here. I also like to listen to some tallis Scholars every now and again. The Ring Series is sometimes fun to listen to while playing something Tolkeinish especially the Prelude to Act 1 "The Storm". Stuff by Lisa Gerrard is always really awessome for this type of setting too, I think so. She has an amazing voice. Also her with Dead Can Dance is always pretty interesting.
